This week the S&B 2’s were up against Old Loughts 4’s at home. Thanks to training and last week’s game the team has really started to gel and get used to each other’s unique style of play, starting the game off strong with majority of the possession and confident attitudes. Within the first 10 minutes Georgia Middleton put away the first goal from a rebound on a short corner immediately creating a buzz in the air, especially due to the many supporters we had cheering us on! Not long after, Georgia once again scored giving us a comfortable lead with just ten minutes left of the first half. Unfortunately, Old Loughts came back fighting and managed to put one away leaving us 2-1 ahead at half time.
Coming back on we knew we needed to create a bigger gap between the score, so our midfielder Anna Tutton banged in a cracking goal in the bottom right from one of our many short corners. The goal-fest didn’t stop there. Georgia once again showing us what she’s made of, scored herself a hat-trick. After Old Loughts put away their second goal of the game we knew that we couldn’t stop now! With quick paced gameplay and strong accurate passing the ball travelled up the right side of the pitch, a perfect switch across to the left post where our right forward Chloe King was sitting, leading to a well calculated sweep from that baseline angle finishing our game with a 5-2 win!!
A very well-deserved player of the match going to Karis Young who came up from the threes to help us out this week. Well done, Karis!!
And a big thank you to all the supporters and club members there rooting for us today, we all really appreciate the support!
