S&B 2nd XI continue winning streak

This week the twos were at home against Braintree 2’s and for the first half of the game, Braintree came out strong and were making good clean passes which lead them to the first goal of the game, however the team kept their defence up and half-time was called with the score at 0-1.
S&B knew they needed to make a change to get the upper hand. So, with a motivational speech from manager Ash Harrison and a confidence boost from ex- captain Naomi Barker, the team went back out there with a newfound positivity and had much better possession of the game.
15 minutes into the second half, S&B were awarded a short corner which Braintree’s goalkeeper didn’t seem to agree with! After she squared up with captain Lily King, there was a very determined energy in the air which made Chloe King put away our first goal from a strike on the short corner. With the breakthrough, the twos knew they could do better than a draw.
Ten minutes later Emillie Burton ran to the right corner, cut into the D and had a shot, the keeper made a touch on it however did not clear it so Neve Harrison didn’t hesitate and made sure we got our second goal.
With strong defending and easy passing the game ended at 2-1, keeping our winning streak and walked away with 3 points.
A huge thank you to all the other players that stayed and supported the team, it creates a very positive atmosphere.
