This week the 2’s were up against our very own 3’s team. Both teams had 13 players on the sheet along with loads of supporters on the sideline unsure of who to cheer for. The game started and there was already a buzz in the air, both teams wanting to make the first break and have the upper hand (and bragging rights!) The first few minutes were evenly fought until Neve Harrison received a cross and put away the first goal of the game. Knowing that the 3’s would now push back even harder than before we kept up the fight for the next ten minutes with attempts from both teams to put the next goal away, forward Chloe King was first to it and made the second goal of the game. The first half closed at 2-0 to the twos.

The second half led with the threes coming back out showing just how well they have formed as a team; with good communication and even better skills they got their first goal in the 48th minute with a reverse hit from Ellie Turner. With the chance of redemption, the 3’s kept the pressure up leading to many moments of nervousness for the 2’s, however they kept the ball out and Neve got her second goal of the game in the 55th minute off a rebound from a short corner. The game closed at 3-1 to the twos but all rivalry was soon forgotten as the sausages and chips came out at teas!

Well done to Tiggy Francis for getting POM, well deserved!

Next week we are up against Old Souths 3 at home.
