This week was the biggest game so far for the super twos, up against Bishop Stortford in a battle for top of the table. With S&B only having a bare 11, the game started out really strong from both teams, evenly matched and both hungry to walk away with the points. Unfortunately 10 minutes into the game left mid Neve went down with an injury that took her off the pitch. Stortford used this to their advantage and started pressing really high and overloaded our defence. Despite the strength of our defence and multiple saves by keeper Denise the opposition managed to put two goals away before half time.
Half time was greatly appreciated by the team, having no subs was hitting hard with the determination everyone was playing with. As the second half started the first ten minutes was the strongest that the twos had played, with multiple attempts at a goal and a short corner we just couldn't manage to get the ball behind the line. The constant battling was finally hitting the 2’s, everyone was knackered with no chance of a break due to having just 11 players and the opposition took advantage of this and put away five more goals. For the first time in 8 weeks the 2’s walked away with a loss.
A very well deserved POM went to keeper Denise after staying positive throughout the entire game!
