Burton on the double in for 4-1 win

This week the twos were up against Old Loughts at their home pitch. The team was welcomed back to the season with bare 11 and no keeper however they proceeded with hope! For the first ten minutes it was an even game however the opposition made a break and got the first goal. Expecting the pressure of the attack, everyone kept the fight up and just after another 8 minutes we were awarded a short corner. Seizing the opportunity, Emillie got on the post and evened the scoreboard using the rebound from the first shot. Up until the half time whistle, both teams worked hard to try and take the lead.

After the quick break the team knew they needed to try and reserve some energy for the last 35 minutes. Letting the ball do the work the twos were doing some of the best passing yet, having the extra player on the pitch was really starting to make a difference. With strong and co-ordinated attacks and some incredible on the line saves from defender Tiggy, in the 59th minute S&B claimed their second goal in open play from Chloe King.

As the game reset, the opposition couldn’t even get a pass away as Georgia made a fast tackle and passed to Anna while Emillie made the run up to the top of the pitch receiving the perfect ball and with complete composure took on the keeper and got our third goal just 30 seconds after our last. For the last 15 minutes both teams held their own and as the game came to a close, the twos got a short corner, and the final whistle blew. Anna received the slip from top and cracked in the last goal, finalising the game at 4-1.

The whole team played incredible, but a well-deserved POM went to Anna Tutton.
