Southend & Benfleet Hockey Club was formed in 2010.

For the 2022/23 season we have four ladies teams playing in the England Hockey East League in divisions 2SE, 3SE, 4SE and 6SE. The season runs from September through to March with games played each week on a Saturday and training sessions on a Wednesday evening, 7-8pm at The King Edmund School.

We also enter teams into the Essex Indoor League, and from May to August three teams in various summer leagues.

We have a junior section for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13, training Monday 6-7pm at The King Edmund School. U10, U12 and U14 teams play in the Essex Mini Hockey League.

In 2019 we were awarded England Hockey’s Clubmark accreditation. Clubmark provides recognition to high quality clubs and means we are recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling club for all participants.

S&B HC have adopted England Hockey’s ‘Respect’ Code of Ethics & Behaviour which covers people involved in hockey in this country (as players, umpires, coaches, officials, volunteers, spectators and parents). This is available from the England Hockey website. http://www.englandhockey.co.uk

S&B HC have an active, fun, social calendar with a range of different events and we finish the season with our annual awards evening.
