Gore Court - 1
Southend & Benfleet 1st XI - 6 (Ashlie Bolton 4, Kirsty Durban 2)
Southend & Benfleet 1st XI travelled to Sittingbourne to play bottom of the division Gore Court. S&B previously lost 2-0 against this side when they last met and with their usual goalkeeper not available, Ellen Taylor had been drafted in as a late substitute. Gore Court got off to a strong start, plaguing the S&B defence with strong through balls to high attackers. Player of the match Ellen Taylor immediately had to make a number of saves. S&B found their feet with skipper Kirsty Durban taking the ball up the right wing and passing to Ashlie Bolton who scored from the penalty spot. An almost identical goal started from the other end as Ellen Taylor kicked out to the right, via Caitlin Meredith to Durban, for Ashlie Bolton to get the brace. Bolton scored again for the hat-trick. S&B were then awarded a penalty corner just before half-time. Nicola Bryant injected to Sarah Conway who smacked the ball towards the right post. Durban deflected the ball up into the right corner. With a comfortable 4-0 cushion S&B continued to stride forward in the second half with another goal from Bolton to bring her tally to an impressive four. Gore Court retaliated with a single goal. But Durban finished the goalfest off when a strike from a penalty corner caught the heel of a Gore Court defender and went in.
