Southend & Benfleet – 4 (Sarah Conway - 2, Georgia Durban, Felicity Galbally)
Gore Court - 0
There was early pressure from S&B but Gore Court were quick on the counter and only some great saves from S&B goalie Lisa Hawkins kept Gore Court off the score board. S&B kept the pressure up but several attempts on the visitors goal saw the ball sailing over the crossbar or skirting passed the post, that is until Sarah Conway slotted one passed the visitors to make the score 1-0 before half time.
It could have been anyone’s game on the restart but it wasn’t long before Kirsty Edmunds was seen setting up not just one but two goals, one for her daughter, Georgia Durban, and then another shortly after for the player of the match, Felicity Galbally. But Conway wasn’t finished and one short corner later saw her cracking home a straight strike and bringing the score to 4-0. Gore Court never gave up though and would pressure the S&B defence right up until the last, but solid defending from Rachel Jeffery and Kendal Colman saw Gore Court leaving for the showers on this very sunny and hot October afternoon without any redress.
