Southend & Benfleet faced top-of-the-table Basildon. Southend & Benfleet got off to a flying start, attacking down the right wing. However this was short lived as they faced a barrage of goals from Basildon. At half-time Southend & Benfleet could only lick their wounds as they were 6-0 down. Captain and player of the match Nina Dabbs changed the formation for the second half which seemed to keep Basildon more under control and Southend & Benfleet managed to score two goals in quick succession from Karen Burgess in open play and Kirsty Durban from a short corner. It was a harsh lesson for S&B with Basildon proving why they are top, final score 9-2.
