Southend & Benfleet battled the elements against Redbridge & Ilford to secure a 2-0 victory and gain a valuable 3 points. Redbridge & Ilford are currently sitting bottom of the table but in the first half of the season the only match they had won was against S&B. Hoping to do better in the return game Southend & Benfleet played confidently and attacking play built up and S&B were awarded a short corner. From the injection Naomi Barker slipped right to Kirsty Durban who found Barker again on the penalty spot for an easy sweep into the left corner. 1-0 at half-time but the win had to be secured. Rachel Jeffery scored again for S&B from a rebound off the keeper. Adele Cole was voted player of the match for an outstanding performance as left back.
