Southend & Benfleet 3rd XI: 2 (Lesley Tonking - 2)
East London 6th XI: 2
S&B took on a highflying opposition for the second week on the trot. From the push back both teams went for it with enthusiasm. S&B won a short corner early into the game, which Jordan Woodman flicked to Lesley Tonking who scored. Shortly after this, nice interplay between Mia Edwards and Nicole Rutter saw Rutter get to the back line and slip it to Tonking who scored again. East London tried to get back into it in the first half but a strong line of defence of Jordan Woodman, Rachel Blades, Anne Johnson and player of the match Lucy Stowe, kept them at bay. Tiggy Francis and Elle-Mae Whieldon worked hard in midfield and helped to keep the 3s 2-0 up at the half time whistle.
East London are a strong team and were not about to give up. They scored twice in the second half to bring them back level. Georgia Middleton and Charmaine Thorn created chances but neither side could get a winner. There were a dramatic final few seconds for S&B with goalkeeper Olivia Wyre racing out of goal to clear an attack, but the score remained 2-2 with the points shared.
