Tough away day for S&B 4th XI at Braintree 3’s

Fantastic 4’s were very unlucky to lose away to Braintree 3’s 1-3 on another very hot day. Braintree scored the opener early on putting the pressure on S&B who stepped up their game. The away team utilised the space and after gaining possession a great ball across the D from Katie A to Katie E who slotted the ball into the back of the net levelling the sides at half time.
The young S&B side came out fighting after half time and played so well up the pitch. Braintree then took the lead, S&B weren't quite used to such a bouncy pitch and Braintree took advantage of that, slotting another past young goalie Lea M who had stopped a number of shots. Braintree then managed to score another goal. S&B dug deep and dominated the last quarter keeping the ball in the away half and had a number of chances on goal but couldn't slot any more goals past the Braintree keeper who kept them in the game by saving shot after shot in the last 10 mins. Great all round performance with POM spread out amongst the team, but won by Georgina who was just kept battling and running at right half.
