Stonking Tonking does it again!

The fantastic 4’s were truly fantastic beating Old South 4’s away at a very late game under the floodlights 1-4 in their lucky pink away shirts.

The game started strong with Lesley banging in the first goal in the first 5 minutes. Old South rallied and suddenly were in the away D, catching the pink away team unawares, slotting in the equaliser. The game then settled down with great play by S&B. Neve Heathcote dominated the midfield running rings round the Old South midfield and defence and then after a tremendous run through half of the home team she scored the 2nd goal. Half time 1-2.

The second half saw the pinks playing the ball around, spreading the play with more great runs by Neve and Izzy. With another through pass to Lesley Tonking waiting patiently in the away D, she calmly slotted the ball in the back of the Old South net. Old South stepped up and attacked the pink D, but between Emily C, Angie and Katie A they thwarted the few attacks. Old South had a few shots at goal, calmly saved by Denise firstly with her stick swiping the shot away and then with her running out towards the Old South forward, getting to the ball first and kicking it away. She played out of her skin saving the away team several times. Lesley Tonking then completed her hat trick with another smashing goal. S&B kept it tight for the last 10 minutes keeping possession until the final whistle. 1-4 win to the pink and black army. POM was deservedly shared between Neve Heathcote and Lesley Tonking.
